The Electric City Culture Council (EC3) is an arm’s length, not-for-profit municipal arts council providing a wide range of programs and services that support the development and advancement of the arts sector in Peterborough and Peterborough County. EC3 acts as a champion and advocate for the sector, creating new opportunities for artists to create and present work and for audiences to experience it.
Our annual program of events and activities include the Peterborough Arts Awards, the Mayor’s Luncheon for the Arts, the Poet Laureate Program, the Bierk Art Bursary program, Electric City Culture Cast, the Downtown Artist in Residence Program and numerous Professional Development Workshops, research and knowledge sharing initiatives, Cultural Incubators and various grant programs. Artsweek is our biennial, 10 day, multi -disciplinary festival that features more than 30 original projects presented by over100 artists. EC3 is managed by professional staff and a nine person volunteer Board of Directors, supported by 80 community partners and sponsors.
The Electric City Culture Council (EC3) is an independent, arm’s-length, not-for-profit corporation mandated by the City of Peterborough to champion the development of the arts, culture and heritage community for the people of Peterborough, and the surrounding region.
We deliver programs and services that enhance public access to the arts and heritage experiences.
