Percheron Plastic Inc. was established in 2015 as a distributor of polyethylene tanks with a goal of becoming a specialty manufacturer. www.percheronplastic.com

Last year, with the help of the BDC, we acquired a Paraffin Wax business, moved it to Peterborough and added a full time team member. We sell our wax to a national distributor, Newell Brands and Home Hardware. Since the acquisiton, we expanded the offering and are now selling our wax products on Amazon. www.paraffinwax.ca

As a manufacturer we recognize the importance of product development. Working with the materials we had available we developed FireStraw, a fire starter made from straw and just a little wax. It is Quick Lighting and best of all Non-Toxic.

Recently Percheron Plastic entered and won the 2018 Bears' Lair Entrepreneurial Competition in the product and service stream. FireStraw is now in several stores and we are actively discussing with engineers to ramp up production to be able to meet the volume and price point required by our existing distributors and our growing online sales. www.firestraw.ca
